Under the Competition Act (Law 19/2012), enforced by the Competition Authority (AdC), a merger must be notified where it creates or reinforces a Portuguese market share of 50 percent or more, or of 30 to 50 percent where at least two companies each have Portuguese turnover above EUR 5 million.
