  1. The regulator is the Agência Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD), a special-status autonomous agency linked to the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, as restructured by Lei 15.352 of 25 February 2026.

    ANPD also oversees the ECA Digital (children's online protection law) in force from 17 March 2026.
