Audit and independence: why some introductions are not made

A firm that audits a client is not introduced to that client for other work unless its independence rules allow it.

Auditors must stay independent of the companies they audit. Independence rules limit what other services an audit firm may provide to an audit client.

So a WONE Global Partner that audits a client is not introduced to that client for other services unless the Partner confirms in writing that its independence rules allow it. Where a firm holds audit and another service in the same country, the two are kept separate.

This is why WONE Global groups tax, structuring, bookkeeping, statutory filings and audit together in its service families, but keeps audit separate where independence requires it.
