Deborah R. Kidd is a distinguished attorney, executive, and educator with over 20 years of experience in the music, entertainment, and media industries. She is the CEO of PopDaze Entertainment LLC, where she leads strategic planning, business development, and innovative initiatives to preserve and celebrate pop culture. Deborah also serves as Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, teaching courses on music industry law, copyrights, and negotiations. She previously founded Kidd Legal LLC, providing legal and business services to artists and entertainment businesses, and has held senior roles at Richard Wayne & Associates P.C. and Virago TV. Alongside her executive role, Deborah is an Associate Professor in the Music Business Department at Berklee College of Music, teaching “Legal Aspects of the Music Industry,” “Copyrights,” and “Contracts and Negotiations.” She is dedicated to preparing the next generation of music business leaders with practical legal and strategic insights.
Deborah’s legal career includes founding Kidd Legal LLC, where she advised artists, entertainment companies, and startups on a wide range of transactional and litigation matters, including copyright, contract negotiation, employment law, harassment training, and revenue stream development. She has also served as an attorney at Richard Wayne and Associates P.C., focusing on compliance, intellectual property, corporate governance, and dispute resolution. Additionally, as a producer and manager at Virago TV, she pioneered live-streamed entertainment experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Music Business (Berklee College of Music), an LL.M. in Entertainment and Media Law (Southwestern Law School), a Juris Doctor (Cumberland School of Law), and a B.S. in Business Administration (Finance) from The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
