Ashley Hollan is an entertainment, media, and technology lawyer with extensive experience in creative industries, combining her legal expertise with her passion for intermedia storytelling. She has served as General Counsel and Vice President for private media and recreation companies, founded her own entertainment law firm, and later joined Live Nation as Associate Counsel, supporting productions, media, and sponsorship. With a background spanning law, art, and critical studies, Ashley has contributed to films, music, VR, and advertising projects. She is also a Visiting Professor at Elon University and an active volunteer in multiple arts and legal organizations.
Ashley Hollan is a multidisciplinary lawyer, storyteller, and educator whose career bridges the worlds of law, entertainment, media, and technology. With a foundation in public policy, art, and critical studies, Ashley combines deep legal expertise with a creative vision, making her uniquely positioned to advise companies and creators in today’s evolving media landscape.
Ashley earned her BA in Public Policy and Visual Art/Art History at Duke University, completed her JD at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, and holds dual graduate degrees—an MFA in Visual Studies and an MA in Critical Studies—from the Pacific Northwest College of Art.
She has served as General Counsel and Vice President for private companies in media and recreation, where she provided strategic leadership on legal and business matters. She went on to found an entertainment law firm, advising artists, startups, and enterprises across the entertainment sector. Later, she joined Live Nation as Associate Counsel, where she worked with the Legal, Productions, Media, and Sponsorship divisions, playing a key role in high-profile projects.
Throughout her career, Ashley has contributed to groundbreaking productions in film, music, virtual reality, advertising, and visual arts, collaborating with both legal and creative teams to deliver impactful results.
Her dedication extends beyond professional roles—Ashley actively volunteers with the American Bar Association, Tennessee Volunteer Lawyers and Professionals for the Arts, Georgia Lawyers for the Arts, Triangle Artworks, and The Recording Academy. In addition, she is a Visiting Professor at Elon University, where she teaches and mentors the next generation of creative professionals.
