Stewart Levitt is the Principal and Managing Partner of Levitt Robinson Solicitors, a firm he founded in 1983. With a career spanning over four decades, Stewart has become a distinguished figure in the legal field, recognized for his strategic legal expertise and advocacy. He graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1978 with a BA/LLB, completed his Master of Laws at the University of Sydney in 1986, and further honed his skills with a Master of Dispute Resolution from University of Technology, Sydney, in 2015. Stewart also attended Harvard Law School for its Program on Negotiation in 2012.
In addition to his extensive legal career, Stewart is a passionate social advocate. He was deeply involved in the Anti-Apartheid Movement in the 1970s and 1980s, and later campaigned for post-Tiananmen refugee rights in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Stewart’s commitment to equality and human rights also led him to serve as a member of the Equal Opportunity Tribunal of NSW and the Race Relations Consultation to the NSW Anti-Discrimination Board.
Beyond his legal practice, Stewart is a poet and columnist. His acclaimed poetry anthologies, “Too Soon to Be Late” (2019) and “We Mortals” (2020), reflect his artistic side. He is also a frequent contributor to Australian Business Executive Magazine, writing about various topics from social issues to legal practices. Stewart’s long history as a Class Action lawyer has seen him act for thousands of individuals across Australia, building strong personal relationships with his clients, many of whom regard him as a tenacious and vocal advocate for their causes.
