Bio-Professional Background (Brief)
Veerash Srikison was admitted as an Advocate in 2003 in Johannesburg, South Africa. She has completed a BA (Law), LLB and LLM degree. In 2010 she chose to focus her practice on resolving disputes through mediations and negotiations. She founded Fair Practice Mediation and Negotiation Consultancy (Pty) Ltd to provide legal care for disputants who prefer an affordable and confidential approach to handling disputes and reaching resolution. She has chaired numerous disciplinary hearings and presided as a moot court judge for the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria. Veerash is constantly improving her understanding on mediation through research and accreditations to meet current and international standards of practice for the benefit of her clients. Her approach to mediation is to be flexible and transparent, while at all times ensuring a fair process to maintain confidentiality and impartiality. Veerash’s style of mediation is a hybrid form of a transformative and facilitative process, working with what is appropriate and constructive in a particular dispute. Veerash believes that it is imperative for a mediator to ensure that all participants feel heard and understood during the process of mediation so that they reach a realistic outcome.
