She held the dual roles of corporate lawyer cum company secretary of commercial establishments dealing in merchant banking, shipping and manufacturing to property development having headed the Legal Departments of the companies in which she served in Sri Lanka.

Currently she has her own legal practice.
She holds a Master in Law and Business (MLB) jointly conducted by the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and WHU School of Management in Vallender, Germany. (2008) (Excelled in Mergers & Acquisitions, Data Governance, International Arbitration, Competition & Antitrust Law). She also acquired a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Colombo and took Oaths as an Attorney at Law in 1985. Obtained a Diploma in International Trade Law & Practice from the University of Colombo in1991. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK. (MCIArb)
A book authored by her titled “Understanding the Concepts of Condominiums” is a comprehensive literature on the application of the law relating to condominium properties in Sri Lanka. A revised edition was released in 2020. Her advice is sought by Developers of several condominium properties in Sri Lanka, Management Corporations and owners of condominiums on condominium acquisitions, investment in condominium properties, development of condominium projects and on due diligence.
Trained in Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer agreements at the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) in Rome, Italy.
Member of the Sub-Committee on Apartment Ownership Law appointed by the Law Commission of Sri Lanka. (2014)
